Creative Ways to Tell Your Husband You're Pregnant

There's nothing more exciting than finding out you're pregnant, especially when you and your husband have been trying for what seems like forever with no such luck. The minute you see that second line show up on the pregnancy test, it takes a lot of will power to not go running down the hall and waving the stick in his face proclaiming the exciting news. Rather than just saying, "Honey, we're pregnant," try turning it into something a little more creative. Here are some fun ways to announce to your husband that you are expecting:

Baby Food

Make a dinner of baby back ribs with a side of baby carrots, baby corn, and baby artichokes for your husband. Sit down at the table together, and once you two begin eating, ask him if he notices any unusual pattern with tonight's dinner.

Coffee Cup

You can buy him a coffee cup that says something like "World's Best Dad," but he could easily mistake it for something you picked up from a garage sale by accident to add to your mismatched collection of cups. To make it a little more personable, go to a ceramic painting shop such as The Paint 'n Place and pick out one of their cups. Put a short note on the inside bottom announcing the great news such as "We're preggo!" Make him some coffee the next morning and anticipate the surprise.

Gift Certificate

Create a gift certificate that says something along the lines of:

To: (Hubby's Name)

Value: 1 Baby

Expires: (Baby's Due Date)

Thermometer

Tell your husband that you're not feeling too hot and pretend like you have a fever. Pretend to use a thermometer to take your temperature and dramatically tell him you're too sick to even read the number on the screen. Pass your "thermometer" (otherwise known as your pregnancy test) over to him and wait for his reaction.

Time to Rearrange!

Tell your husband you want to rearrange the bedroom. Before you start tearing things apart, however, you'd like to draw out a plan for him to use as a guideline. Draw rectangles and label them things such as bed, dresser, crib, changing table. Hopefully he'll get the point!

If you and your husband are on the more light-hearted quirky side, these ideas are perfect for announcing to the news to him. A little bit of planning can create a moment to look back, laugh at, and treasure forever.
