Have Some Fun at Your Baby Shower

It seems lately that everyone is having a baby. As much as I would love to have one, I'm not quite ready for one just yet. But, that doesn't stop me from having fun at a baby shower! Baby showers are meant to be fun! I've rounded up some of my favorite baby shower games that both guests and mommy-to-be can participate in.

How Absorbent

Lots of people get tons of diapers as gifts from a baby shower. If a friend has any leftovers, try to get some diapers - as many different brands as you can. The idea of the game is to guess correctly which diaper brand will be the most absorbent when a liquid is poured into it. I'm going with Huggies, but then again, Pampers might win this.

Chocolate Diaper

This one of my favorite games to play at a baby shower - I actually did pretty good at this one. Once again to avoid spending a lot, see if you can get some free diapers for this (about five). It doesn't matter what type of brand. Pick five different chocolate bars and melt them. Place each one in a diaper and have the guests guess what type of chocolate it is to win a prize. This may not be for the weak stomach types.

Baby Words

This game is very simple and one that most of us have played a similar version (I know I have). Guests and moommy-to-be have one minute to write down as many baby related words they can come up with. The one with the most wins!

Baby Food

I've played this game at almost every shower that I've been too - guess the baby food. Make sure the labels are off the jars and have each player try to guess the food. I admit, I was terrible at this one.

Baby Pictionary

Ever played Pictionary? Try it at a baby shower! Keep the theme of the game strictly baby related.

Pin the Diaper on the Baby

Just like pin the Tail on the Donkey, you pin the diaper on the baby. Set up a picture or poster of a drawn (or photographed) baby. You can make a diaper out of paper or cloth or use a real one. I've even seen this done as pin the sperm on the egg.

Twister Baby

Play the game of Twister just like you would any other time. You can do this one of two ways: have guests wear a balloon under their shirt and pin the shirt in place or do a pillow with weights. See how hard it is to play the game when you're pregnant! The Mommy-to-be gets the honor of spinning the dial.

Pop the Balloon

I played Pop the Balloon as a child - just with nothing in them. In each balloon, Mommy-to-be's wishes of what she wants her baby to look like, weigh, gender, and possible names will be in each of the balloons. The guests divide into teams and see who can pop the balloons the fastest to find out more about the future baby! The mommy-to-be times the game.

Remember to have prizes for the games! Didn't see some of your favorites or on a tighter budget? You can also try guessing the amount of diaper pins (or safety pins) in a jar, draw a baby on a paper plate on your head game, name the baby animal, and more! So have fun at your next baby shower - whether it's for you or another mommy-to-be.
