Unique Ways to Tell Him You Are Pregnant

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you looking for interesting ways to tell your significant other that you are expecting? Try some of these fun ideas:

When I was a little girl, I used to love the show Full House. In one episode, the wife of one of the brothers wanted a unique way to tell her husband that she was expecting. As a hint, she made a dinner for him of baby back ribs, baby corn, baby peas, and baby carrots.

One mother online had a great idea to hang the pregnancy test on the Christmas tree like an ornament and see if he notices. You can also slip it into his stocking at Christmas.

Another mother had an equally cute idea. While making dinner, say "honey, there's a bun in the oven, could you please get it out for me?" When he looks, he will find the pregnancy test you left there for him to find. (Remember not to turn the oven on.)

Leave the pregnancy test in the cookie jar for him to find. Of course you will probably want to take the cookies out first.

Do you make his lunch every day before sending him off to work? Seal the positive pregnancy test in a zip-top bag ad place it in his lunch bag. He will be so surprised.

There's nothing more fun than a scavenger hunt. Leave clues around the house for him to follow and find the pregnancy test at the end or perhaps a rattle or a pair of baby shoes.

Is your hubby a techie geek? If he's like mine and sits down at the computer after work before even taking off his jacket, this might be the best way to get his attention. Leave two windows open on his computer that he will see as soon as he turns the monitor on. On the first, leave a large message that says "now that I have your attention..." and on the second window, put up a huge photo of your positive pregnancy test.

Do you think you can get your doctor in on it? Have your care provider make a call to your husband and play a little joke on him. Your doctor could say something funny like "This is Dr. Smith from the hospital. Sir, I'm calling to inform you that your wife is here and we have you listed as her emergency contact." Once he's been thoroughly terrified, your doctor can follow with "I just wanted to call and congratulate you! You're going to be a father!" The only drawback is that you won't be able to see your husband's face when he hears the news.

If you like the idea of playing a joke on your husband, get his coworkers in on it. Call up to his office and tell all of them that you want to surprise him. Let them in on the secret and ask them to help you with the joke. Have them come up to him when he gets to work and congratulate him, but don't say why. Pretty soon, he will want to know why he's being congratulated and they can let him in on it. "You're going to be a father!"

The next time you go shopping together, head to the children's clothing section and start putting items into your cart. If you are at the grocery store, start putting baby items in such as baby powder, diapers, and baby shampoo. See how long it takes him to get it.

Take the batteries out of the remote control and leave a note inside. When he gets home and settles down to turn on the TV, he will find that the remote doesn't work. The first thing he will do is check the battery compartment and find the note inside: "I'm pregnant!"

Is he a gamer? My husband spends all of his free time online. If you know how to play the game, log in to his character and send a note to all of his online buddies that you want them in on it. Have them all congratulate him the next time he logs on, but make sure they know not to tell him why. Instead, they can tell him "oh, you'll see," or "why don't you ask your wife?" Eventually, it will drive him crazy not knowing and when he asks you what it's all about you can give him the good news.

Set the alarm on his cell phone to go off. When he checks it to see what it is, he'll read a message that you left saying "oh by the way, I'm pregnant!" This is a lot of fun if you time it so that you are there to see his reaction when he gets the message.

If his birthday is coming up, wrap the pregnancy test inside a box like a gift and give it to him. Let him know it's the biggest birthday present he's ever gotten (but also one of the smallest).

Buy him a brand new digital camera and include a note in the gift box that says "I hope you like it because you are really going to need it in about nine months." See if he gets it.

You could buy yourself a customized t-shirt that says "I swallowed a watermelon seed." Some companies make cute maternity shirts that you can buy that have the baby's due date printed on the front or a picture of a bun in an oven.

Buy a car seat and set it up in the back seat of the car. See how long it takes for him to notice that it is there.

Set out an extra place setting on the dinner table. When he asks if you are expecting someone, just smile and nod. When he asks who, say "well, its kind of early and I hadn't really thought of any names yet."
